School of Music Festival

Classical Era

Festival Date: November 3, 2024
Application deadline: October 23, 2024

Why do we host music festivals?

  • To promote Classical music among children and youth.

  • To encourage students of grades K-12 to gain performance experience in a non-competitive environment.

  • To appreciate the process of music education and to acknowledge each student’s achievements at every level of the process.

  • To emphasize one of the musical styles of standard music repertoire every year, for deeper study and repertoire expansion.

Music Festival Guidelines:

  • Each student will receive comments from evaluators and an award based on their evaluations.

  • Judges may not hear the pieces in their entirety. This does not reflect negatively on the performers. All decisions of the judges are final.

  • All winners will be announced at the end of each event and will be posted at the competition website on the same day.

  • All solo works are to be played from memory, except duets and ensembles.

  • Original music (no illegal photocopies) must be provided for the judges

  • Performance at the competition is allowed to be recorded or videotaped.

  • All contestants must wear proper concert attire.

  • Complete the form, enter CheckCode a value that you can see above the input field, and send it to us.
